All Saints’ Episcopal Cathedral

All Saints’ Episcopal Cathedral is located at 804 East Juneau Avenue in downtown Milwaukee. It is one of the oldest churches in Wisconsin,  the original buildings being built in 1869. The architect Edward Townsend Mix designed and supervised the construction of the Gothic Revival structure. The Cathedral, appropriately enough, is built of cream colored brick. The city of Milwaukee is known as “Cream (Brick) City” and has a large number of cream brick buildings.

The Cathedral along with its accompanying structures–the Guild Hall, the Institute, and the Rectory–was designated a Milwaukee City Landmark in 1973 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

There are no organized tours of the church facilities at this time, though interior photographs are allowed when services are not being held. Appropriate respect is essential.
